This is the simpler image insertion module to use, as it has been customised for your needs, with a form to guide you for each type of content on your website. If you have requested different sizes of the same image to appear at different points in your website this has also been programmed to occur automatically. You don't need to position the image on the page, as this is already set up for you.
Create content
You could have a number of categories of content set up with imagefield facilities. Choose the correct one to ensure that the new item displays in the correct section of your site. In this example, the content category 'Event' has an imagefield facility, so we will select it:
Upload photo
'Browse' to choose an image then click 'upload'. (Remember that image editing and renaming needs to be done before uploading.)
Describe & Specify
Make entries as appropriate in the fields of your custom form. This is a basic example of a form:
Alternative text
This is displayed in place of the image by a client's browser when images are turned off or if the page is viewed in a 'text only' browser. It is accessed by screen readers for disabled users, and may help with your Search Engine Optimisation. In the example below the words 'Australian parliament' are the alternative text:
Title
The title (see below) is shown when the visitor's mouse hovers over the image, and is mainly used for information purposes. Do not add too much text, as it only usually appears for a couple of seconds.
Custom fields
You may have other custom fields where you can enter information specific to your requirements.
Changing the image
To delete an existing image, click in the delete check box in the top right corner of the image field.
To replace an existing image, select a new image using the browse button. There is no need to delete an existing image before the new image is uploaded.
Some fields allow only one image, while others may be set up to take a main image plus additional images.
