Destination URL
You will need the URL of your destination page. This could be a URL alias or one containing numbers etc. It is easiest and safer to go to the destination page and copy the URL displayed on your browser's address bar. The same process applies whether you are linking within your site or to an external site.
Link origin
Go to the point of origin of your link. In edit mode, highlight the total content you want to appear as a link. For example, the text 'dolor sit amet' will be the link origin in the example below:
Note: you do not need to add any special link formatting (eg underlining) as this will be done for you.
Click on the link symbol:
and insert the destination URL from step 1. Submit and check that it works.
Note: if you want to link to a point part way down a page you need to set up an anchor.
If you rename pages or rearrange your site you may need to redo your links and anchors. Also check regularly that you external links haven't changed.
